Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. The AI model runs inside your browser — your photo is processed on your own device and never uploaded, stored, or seen by us. That's why it's free and unlimited: there is no server doing the work, and nothing to charge credits for.

Why does the first use download something?

The first time you use the tool, your browser downloads the AI engine and model (~40 MB, one time) — directly from our own servers, no third parties involved. It's cached, so later visits start instantly, and afterwards the tool even works offline. Try airplane mode.

Can I change the background to white for a passport or ID photo?

Yes — after the background is removed, one click sets a pure white, light blue, or red background (the common ID-photo colours), or any custom colour. Download as JPG or PNG. Check your country's exact photo rules for size and pose.

Can I put my photo on a different background image?

Yes — upload any photo as the new background, and use the colour-match slider to blend the subject's tones into the new scene. It uses Reinhard colour transfer, a classic colour-science algorithm, so the composite looks natural rather than pasted-on.

What photos does it work best on?

It uses MODNet, an open-source portrait-matting model, so it is strongest on people — profile photos, selfies, full-body shots. Product shots and objects can work but results vary; a clean, contrasting background helps.
